    *If you are already a Yoga Teacher registered with Yoga Alliance Professionals, this course counts as your ‘CPD’ and you are able to then gain a certificate that enables you to gain specialist insurance to teach group and 1-2-1 pregnancy yoga classes and brand yourself as a pregnancy yoga teacher.

Course Outcomes

By the end of the course you will:

 

  • Be able to confidently and safely, practice and teach pregnancy yoga classes whether 1-2-1, within a group or within a modified general yoga class.

 

  • Deepen your understanding of pregnancy and birth so that you understand intuitively, why a practice/pose may or may not be appropriate

 

  • Gain technical understanding of the stages of labour, process of birth and pelvic anatomy and bring your insights into your pregnancy classes

 

  • Understand yogic concepts of subtle energy body so that you can offer an holistic and integrated yoga practice that serves the mother and baby on all levels of their being.

 

  • Know how to adapt classes to meet the needs and energies of your group

 

  • Offer a class that builds a warm, welcoming community. You’ll create an atmosphere in class that invites sharing and connection, to baby, self and others.

 

  • Appreciate flow-state and how it can be cultivated as part of birth preparation and for childbirth itself

 

  • Offer a quality rich class experience with the techniques of breathing exercises, meditation, mudra, mantra, bandha, sankalpa, visualization and yoga nidra as well as a little taste of hypnobirthing, Thai yoga massage and a sound bath.

 

  • Understand, appreciate and develop the arts of teaching yoga, including the art of holding space, art of verbal cueing, art of story telling.

 

  • You will be equipped with the business know-how, skills and motivation to set up as a professional Pregnancy Yoga Teacher
